Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actress working on TV and in films is most well-known for her roles in films like Rush as well as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Alexandra was the sole daughter of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. At the age of sixteen, she had secured a number of TV roles including the lead role in Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Her critically-acclaimed performance in the made-for-television film Der Tunnel paved way for other notable roles including the role of Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudl Junge in the critically and commercially profitable Oscar nominated war-time drama film Downfall. The Reader as well as Der Baader Meinhof Komplex were also nominated for Oscars. Alexandra is well-known for her participation in a variety of notable projects, both in the United States as well as internationally. A few of them include the British biographical movie Control, Greek drama movie The Dust of Time, and the French historic miniseries Napoleon. She also served in the jury panel of the Transylvania International Film Festival, and at Cannes Film Festival.
